First quality bowls are relatively round. They do not have any knots or areas with wood filler. They are NOT perfectly round due to the old world traditional methods in which they are turned. We recommend only using first quality bowls with food.
Second quality bowls have rims
that vary slightly in thickness or are more out of round than the first
quality bowls. They may also rarely have a small filled area or very small
Third quality bowls have rims that vary in thickness or are more out of round than the second special quality bowls. They will likely have knots and/or large or small holes/cracks/imperfections. Not recommended for use with food. Please note: Third quality bowls will be either cherry, maple or beech.
